Manage Visibility & Confidentiality

DBL allows you to decide whether or not you want your organization to be visible to other organizations. Organizations may choose to be private for a variety of reasons. Some of those reasons include the following:

  • Security & Sensitivity – Some organizations work in regions where Bible translation or distribution is restricted, so they need to keep their presence discreet.
  • Partner-Specific Access – Certain organizations may only want their content accessible to specific partners rather than the broader DBL community.
  • Content in Development – A private status allows organizations to upload, manage, and refine their content before making it widely available.

Your organization’s visibility can be changed within your organization’s profile. See the step-by-step instructions with screenshots below for a detailed guide to hide (or unhide) your organization from other users.

From your organization portal, click on ‘View’ next to the organization you wish to edit.

Then, click on the ‘Profile’ tab.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to the section titled Privacy and Data, as shown in the screenshot below. This is where you can set your visibility status.

Please note that, just as checking the box will hide your organization from the DBL directory, unchecking it will make your organization visible in the DBL directory.
