Publications

A content item in DBL can have multiple publications. A good example of this is the English: Good News Translation US 1992, which has a “Catholic Interconfessional Bible” publication as well as a “Protestant Bible” publication.

To add multiple publications to an upload, simply check the ‘Show advanced options’ box. To start adding information for your first (and for most people, only) publication, click the down arrow to the right of your publication title.

The information you will enter here is typically similar to the information entered in the Details section.

One of the main differences is that in the Publications section, this information is entirely optional:

  • Title in English - this is the preferred English name used to refer to the content.
  • Title in content language - name for the content in a widely understood local language.
  • Title abbreviation in English - the abbreviated name in English.
  • Title abbreviation in content language - the abbreviated name in the local language.
  • Description in English - description of the content in English.

  • Description in content language - description of the content in the local language.
  • Promotional description in content language - this promotional description should be in the local language and will be displayed wherever the content is presented in DBL and other systems.
  • Scope - select the Biblical scope of the work - is it the Old Testament, New Testament, or the entire Bible?
  • Add country - Information on the country where the content language is predominantly spoken. Search the country by name or by ISO Code. Check the ‘Show advanced options’ box to see advanced editable fields such as Country Name, ISO Code, and Local name. You can also add another country if necessary.

When you’ve entered the desired information, click ‘Save and continue’ in the bottom right corner to go to the next part - 'Rights.'
