Importance of a Registered Organization
A registered organization is a group that the government recognizes as its own legal "person," separate from the people who manage it. Official incorporation or registration documents prove the entity is a verifiable body that can be held legally accountable for its actions.
In the Digital Bible Library, license agreements are made between two registered organizations. This setup ensures the agreement remains stable and enforceable over time. Because the organization itself signs the contract and owns the rights, the agreement stays valid and unchanged even if the leadership or staff members leave.
Note that a sole proprietorship does not qualify as a registered organization. In a sole proprietorship, there is no legal separation between the owner and the business.
