Manage Resources

The second page of the Structural phase of the Upload content process is titled Resources, where different parts of your content item is added and uploaded. (Also see the first phase, Descriptive, or the third phase, Administrative.)

There are three parts to adding resources:

• Public Release - downloadable file(s) for DBL members with an approved content license
• Publications - sets of files linked to specific versions (e.g. Protestant or Catholic), downloadable only by DBL members with the appropriate license.
• Project Files - resource files to assist translation work, not to be used for distribution

When you click on the Back button at bottom of this page, you will go back to the first Structural page, Setup Your Structure.

Public Release

This part is where you upload files that will be distributed via license agreements. These Public Release files will be included in every listing of files provided to the Distributor that has a license agreement for the content, even when the license agreement does not specify all publications. Read the article, Content License, to learn more.

Upload all files that will be included as the public release files.

Publications

This part is where you can upload files that will be associated with a publication within a content item. A content item may have multiple publications, e.g. in the case when a Contributor wants to publish Protestant and Catholic versions of the same Bible version. Each publication can have one or more files that it points to, and publications can point to the same files that other publications point to. The files under the Publications section will only be downloadable for Distributors that have a license agreement that has selected the individual publication or allows “all publications”, so there may be some Distributors that do not have access to all of the files of a content item. Project Files

This section is where you can upload files such as source files, dictionaries, commentaries, and grammars, which assist the translators of the current content item in their work. These files are intended to never be shared with Distributors.
