How to Customize your Agreements
How to Customize your Agreement
The DBL provides many templates for license agreements that member organizations may use. A DBL template provides the structure for inserting specific details to create agreements using standardized formats. Your Contributor organization may select any existing template to create a new agreement.
In some situations, a template has most of the terms your Contributor organization wants for creating a new license agreement, but your organization would like to customize it with a few modifications.
After you've selected a template in the Choose a template section (located on the Create a controlled access license page), scroll down to the section titled 'Key Details' to customize your license agreement. For more instructions, see the article Drafting an Agreement.
In the Addendum section, you can simply add text that would modify the terms outlined in the selected template. The text added here would take precedence and supersede the selected template’s terms as you create a new agreement.
If the selected template requires an attachment, the Required attachment field would be visible. Only one attachment per agreement is allowed.
When everything is completed, click on the Submit for approval button to create the agreement. Then the Distributor organization will be notified.
