Details

The upload process is divided into eight parts. At any point, refer to the progress bar at the top of the page to see where you are in the process. 

The first part of this process is providing some basic details on the content. 

Content Overview

Provide the title information to help users easily search and find the content in DBL.

  • Title in English - this is the preferred English name used to refer to the content.
  • Title in content language (optional) - name for the content in a widely understood local language.
  • Title abbreviation in English - the abbreviated name in English.
  • Title abbreviation in content language (optional) - the abbreviated name in the local language.
  • Description in English - description of the content in English. 

  • Description in content language (optional) - description of the content in the local language.
  • Promotional description in content language (optional) - this promotional description should be in the local language and will be displayed wherever the content is presented in DBL and other systems.
  • Scope - select the Biblical scope of the work - is it the Old Testament, New Testament, the entire Bible?
  • Completion date (optional) - this is the initial publication date or anticipated date of completion of this content

Content Language

Enter information about the primary language of the content.

  • Add language - type either the English language name or the ISO Code. The field will automatically populate with the relevant information. Click ‘Show advanced’ to show advanced fields such as Language name, ISO Code, Local Name, Language Identifier (LMDL), and Dialect (ROD).
  • Add script - search the script by name or code, and we’ll populate the information we know. Click ‘Show advanced’ to show advanced fields such as Script name, Script code, and Script direction.
  • Numerals system (optional) -  select the preferred numeral system for displaying digits in the scripture (e.g. chapter and verse number).

Country

  • Add country - Information on the country where the content language is predominantly spoken. Search the country by name or by ISO Code. Click ‘show advanced’ to see advanced editable fields such as Country Name, ISO Code, and Local name. You can also add another country if necessary.

When you’re ready to move on to the Publications part, click ‘Save and Continue’ in the bottom right corner.
